Izandla ZeAfrika is a registered faith-based Non-Profit Company in the heart of rural Zululand which strives to spread the love and gospel of Jesus Christ by being His hands and feet here on earth. All of our staff and board members are volunteers who have been stirred by the Spirit of God to make a difference in rural Africa. Please take a look at our projects and feel free to let us know what you think!

Caring for infants with palliative and special needs
Butterfly Home is the newest project that Izandla ZeAfrika is setting up. The heart behind this special home is to provide a safe haven for orphaned or abandoned infants and young toddlers with palliative or special needs. Theses babies are one of the most vulnerable groups within the orphan community as they need special medical care. Parents, especially single young moms, often feel overwhelmed when they give birth to a baby who has a life-limiting condition or severe special needs such as Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy. Without the proper counselling and family support many of these babies end up abandoned and left to die or are left in government hospitals without love and individual care. Our heart here at Izandla is to welcome these little ones from and provide the love and expert medical attention they need in a homely environment without the need for a hospital placement. The home has been set up in the mountain community of Ingwavuma where our team of caregivers and volunteers provide round the clock care in a fully equipped hospice nursery that we share with our Izandla Head Office. The team consists of trained basic health caregivers, a social worker, occupational therapist and volunteer doctors and nurses.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress. James 1:27
Our hope is that we can link possible adoptive families with some of our babies who can provide stable and loving long-term homes.
Many of our caregivers are widows who feel that God has placed caring for orphans and sick babies on their hearts. This also provides an income then to widowed ladies i

The mandate for our company, Izandla ZeAfrika, can best be summed up in the following quote by author Suzie Larson in Embracing Your Freedom:
We are the resistance against the evils in this world. Wrapped in the armour of God, standing on His promises, we are called to affect change, to stand in the gap, to gain ground, and to be the hands and feet of Christ for a world in need.
